Tappy Hour® at the Beer Garden! May 24 & June 28

Tappy Hour® comes to Astoria to the historic Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden! We’ve got two dates booked to see if we can get a following going in Astoria, two sessions for each day:

Session I from 7-8 pm (fun for all)
Session II from 8-9 pm (more advanced session for those of you with tap shoes)

Thursday, May 24, 2012 (celebrate National Tap Dance Day with us a day early)
Thursday, June 28, 2012

$10 for one session, $15 for both. Drink specials for all participants. Class will be held in the upstairs classroom. Come early or stay after to enjoy the gorgeous outdoor garden.

The Beer Garden is located at 29-19 24th Avenue which is off the N/Q train at Astoria Blvd or M60 Bus to 31st Street. As always, contact us if you have any questions!

Hi tappers! I just got an email from the venue today and due to their busy schedule on Saturday, April 21, they’ve asked us to bump our event up an hour. There will still be two sessions – Session I from 4:30-5:30 pm and Session II from 5:30-6:30 pm. Hopefully those of you who are planning to attend will still be able to and maybe this will work out better for those of you who haven’t yet decided. I’ll be there ready to tap regardless, so see ya Saturday!

Undertoe Dance Project is thrilled to announce that we will be producing the first Astoria Dance Festival this summer at the historic Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden. The event will be held from 2-6 pm on Sunday, June 24 and will feature Astoria based dance makers of all genres and will be FREE to the public. In addition to performances by student and professional dancers, the audience will have an opportunity to participate in movement lessons. More details are available here.

Tappy Hour®
a recreational tap class for adults in a bar!

Have you always, always, always wanted to learn how to tap dance? Or, did you take tap as a kid and then life happened and you gave it up for one reason or another? What if you could learn to tap while enjoying an adult beverage? PRESTO – Tappy Hour®!

This recreational tap class was created for anyone and everyone who wants to learn to tap dance and it happens in a very non-threatening venue… a bar! There are two different levels currently offered to accommodate your tap ability (or lack of since we welcome first-timers!). All classes taught by members of Undertoe Dance Project.

Session I is perfect for those of you with no previous tap experience and no tap shoes.
Session II is a little more advanced for those of you with mastery of tap basics and who have your own tap shoes.

$10 for one session, $15 for both! Drink specials for Tappy Hour® participants available at each venue!

Have a venue suggestion or know a neighborhood that could use a Tappy Hour®? Let me know! We are always looking for opportunities to expand and share the toe tappin’ good time of Tappy Hour®.

Can’t make it out to one of our open dates? How about a private Tappy Hour® for you and your friends? All we need from you is a guarantee of 5 participants or $50 and we can set up a private event that is convenient for you! It can be for an after work happy hour, birthday party, bachelor/bachelorette party or whatever occasion you wish! Please send us a message for more info on a private event!

We are thrilled to announce a new venue for our Tappy Hour® event on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. This event will be held at Connolly’s Klub 45 in midtown, so grab your friends and colleagues and come over after dinner for some tapping fun!

one, mixed level session from 9:15-10:15 pm

$10 and drink specials available for all participants!
